Ungeheuer(ehr)lich

Depression is not fashionable

like a dog on a designer leash

 

I cannot hang the leash at night

nor put the pup to sleep

 

My leash stays tied around my neck

My dog keeps showing her teeth 

 

All I can do is... 

keep trying to breathe.
